Object of research: processes of development of competitiveness of water transport of Ukraine. The purpose of the work: the development of scientific approaches to the formation of the institutional and economic mechanism of activity and development
of water transport as a factor of strengthening its competitive advantages in modern conditions of transformations in th industry. The methodological basis of the work is a systematic approach, system-structural analysis and synthesis, methods of comparison and logical generalization, analogies and grouping, economic-statistical and economic-mathematical methods, nam forecasting theories, optimization theories, statistical and graphic methods of retrospective and comparative analys transformation and extrapolation of trends.
