The purpose of the research: a new attribution and rethinking of already known (introduced into scholar use) material and written sources of the 14th – early 20th centuries from the collection of the NMHU based on new achievements of national and world historical science: identification, study and systematization of new materials, documentary and written sources of national and world history of the 14th – early 20th centuries and museology, their introduction into scholar circulation. Methods of research: critical and comparative-historical methods, a set of methods and approaches offered by source studies and special historical disciplines, primarily paleography, chronology, diplomacy, sigillography, numismatics, weaponology, museology, etc. (iconographic method of interpretation of visual sources, weapons analysis of stylistic features of products, comparative-sphragistic, source analysis and synthesis, source heuristics and others). The results of the research work: critical analysis and introduction into scholar circulation the dozens of new heterogeneous sources and source complexes from the museum collection; study of the history of museum collections. 22 articles were published in the scholar journals, books and proceedings; 18 articles were prepared and contributed for publications. Scientific attribution also contributes to the use of artifacts in the field of public history (involvement in the exhibition).
