Features of modern younger schoolchildren are highlighted, which should be taken into account during educational interaction with them. The set of pedagogical conditions that ensure the development and improvement of the abilities of students of grades 1-2 to consciously perceive and understand oral information is substantiated; conditions for managing the development of educational and cognitive activities of junior high school students in the lessons of reading and working with children's books in grades 3-4, taking into account the educational realities of martial law; a set of pedagogical conditions favorable for students' assimilation of program results in mathematics. Peculiarities of the organization of educational and cognitive activities of younger schoolchildren in the realities of martial law were studied. Through an online survey of teachers, the factors that negatively affect the formation of students' academic skills have been identified. A toolkit for diagnosing students' learning abilities in mastering the program content of the Ukrainian language and reading, mathematics, and the integrated course "I explore the world" has been developed, the approbation of which will make it possible to find out the losses in the learning of students in different formats of its organization.
