It was established that the use of mower-conditioners with beater and roller equipment with uniform laying of the mass and introduction of preservatives in the rate of 6.0 kg/t ensures the acceleration of the moisture release of alfalfa rolls from 1.86 to 2.26%/h, alfalfa-ryegrass mixture – from 1.72 to 1.83 %/h. This technology makes it possible to preserve foliation at the level of 42.4 and 43.8%, and the total mechanical losses during active field wilting do not exceed 10.2-12.6% of dry matter. It was also established that the use of conditioners with portioned, uniform stacking of mowed mass ensures energy value increase of alfalfa hay up to 8.29 MJ/kg, and of leguminous-cereal mixture – up to 7.78 MJ/kg, while the metabolic energy coefficients of finished feed after 90 days of storage did not exceed 58.5 and 60.7%, respectively. Studies have shown that harvested pressed alfalfa hay acquires equilibrium moisture at 28.9 ± 1.8%, alfalfa-ryegrass hay of the first variant (26% of cereals according to DM) at 25.3 ± 2.2% and alfalfa-ryegrass hay of the second variant (46% of cereals according to DM) – only at 22.8 ± 2.5%.
