The data on the treatment of diseases of the upper respiratory tract in Ukraine, as well as on the current classification and state of treatment of these diseases, are summarized. The information on the technologies for obtaining plant extracts is summarized. Modern methods of PRM extraction are analyzed. The assortment of medicinal products (drugs) of the domestic market has been studied in terms of the availability of herbal and synthetic preparations used in the treatment of respiratory diseases, including those with antimicrobial action. In the course of the research, methods of identification using thin-layer, gas and high-performance liquid chromatography and quantitative detection of biologically active substances using spectrophotometric and gravimetric methods in PRM, extracts and finished dosage forms were used. These methods respectively determined the presence and quantitative content of essential oil and its components, chlorophylls, phenolic compounds, polysaccharides, etc. The technological properties of PRM have been studied and the optimal technologies of extracts for the development of preparations have been proposed. To develop the optimal composition and technology of medicines based on plant extracts, the method of mathematical design of the experiment was used. The effect of excipients on the characteristics of target products has been studied. Technological schemes for the production of finished preparations have been developed. Substances for certification of Cetraria islandica thallus and Eucalyptus globulus leaves have been proposed. On the basis of modern pharmacopoeial requirements and the obtained pharmaco-technological and physicochemical characteristics, the specification for the spray "Chlorophyllipt-spray" and "Phytolor-spray" was developed.
