In terms of the degree of impact on performance, the most serious threat to insulator garlands is short-circuiting, which can occur when foreign objects (not necessarily with high conductivity) fall on the garland. These can be tree branches that break off during a storm or are not properly trimmed, various birds, etc. Therefore, to ensure reliable operation of the insulators, these factors must be excluded by monitoring the condition of the lines and green spaces near them.
