A methodological scheme for assessing the scale of poverty and inequality in comparison with the pre-pandemic period is proposed and a corresponding research algorithm is developed. The losses from the pandemic and the war due to the increase in the number of the poor population of Ukraine were estimated. The value of the main poverty indicators for 2020-2022, which would have been in the absence of the COVID-19 pandemic and full-scale war, was estimated. Predicted levels of poverty for the medium-term perspective were calculated under two scenarios - hypothetical (according to the "no war" scenario) and the most likely (based on real data and using the positive trend of 2016-2019).
