Head Kovrov Oleksandr S., Доктор технічних наук Registration Date 06-01-2026 Organization Dnipro University of Technology popup.description1 The goal of the project is to develop new environmentally safe technologies for the sustainable restoration of polluted and degraded lands, and territories disturbed by technogenesis and military actions in Ukraine. popup.description2 Within the Stage 2 of the R&D project, a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach was implemented, combining remote sensing and GIS-based analyses to assess territorial degradation and support land certification. This included the use of Sentinel-2 imagery, NDVI time series, and quantitative indicators capturing changes in field boundaries, together with intelligent methods for detecting and monitoring abandoned arable land. In parallel, laboratory and technological methods were applied to substantiate and develop eco-technologies, including composite biohumus briquettes and vermiculture-based products. The study also employed correlation analysis linking resource-efficiency and environmental safety indicators, as well as environmental engineering approaches to water protection, particularly zero liquid discharge (ZLD) solutions, supported by the assessment of hydrochemical parameters and the development of applied groundwater-based water supply concepts. In addition, ecological impact assessment methods were used to evaluate the influence of industrial sites on biological indicators, complemented by machine-learning approaches for forecasting atmospheric air pollution. As a result, a scientific and methodological framework for geoinformation monitoring of war-damaged and technogenically transformed territories was established. Using Sentinel-2 data, the project produced assessment results for landscape degradation, developed approaches for the quantitative identification of agrolandscape degradation zones, and created an intelligent NDVI-based system for detecting and monitoring abandoned arable land, including procedures for GIS-based land “passporting.” Furthermore, a portfolio of eco-technologies for restoring disturbed lands was substantiated and advanced, including parameterized composite biohumus briquettes for phytoremediation, vermicomposting технологічні рішення, phytopellet applications, and a phytoremediation method for technogenic areas.
