The choice of starting materials for obtaining glass composites for armor protection and glazing based on lithium silicate high-strength glass-crystalline materials with an adjustable level of light transmission and ballistic resistance has been scientifically substantiated. The regularities of the formation of the structure and phase composition of glass-composite materials have been established. The influence of the phase composition on the functional properties of glass-crystalline materials has been determined. The relationship between the structural parameters of impact-resistant glass-crystalline materials and their physicochemical, operational and technological properties has been established and their composition has been optimized. The choice of the technology for obtaining glass-composite materials has been justified, taking into account the cost and availability of materials, and the manufacturability of the process. The technological parameters for ensuring the strengthening of the structure of the developed glass-composite materials under conditions of low-temperature short-term heat treatment have been determined. Taking into account the assessment of the competitiveness of the developed glass composites, the feasibility of using the developed high-strength materials as elements of armor protection of special equipment was confirmed. The development and implementation of high-strength lightweight glass composites using energy-saving technology will significantly increase the scientific level and practical significance of the results of creating competitive armor elements for solving problems in the defense, aerospace, machine-building and instrument-making industries.
