The purpose of the scientific research is to develop scientific and methodical support for implementing the circular approach in key sectors of the Ukrainian economy. Research methods: theoretical generalization; analysis and synthesis; system analysis; conceptual, structural, parametric and matrix modeling; target programming. The task of the reporting stage of the study - assessment methods and approaches to their formation in the sectors of the country’s economy; substantiating the structural and technological directions of economic development under the conditions of implementing the circular approach in the sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The concept of the circular approach is substantiated as a way to ensure the growth of the circulation of material resources in the production and consumption chain of the real economy sectors, provided that a satisfactory state of the environment is maintained. It is proved that the modern economy is a set of resource cycles of three different types – linear, closed and resource-neutral. A universal structural model of the resource cycle is constructed and a single methodological approach to the formation of the system and measurement of the parameters of resource cycle models is developed. A number of economic patterns of resource cycles are determined. A methodological approach to substantiating the directions of structural transformations in economic sectors has been developed.
