Research methods include general scientific methods (analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, abstraction, systems approach, generalisation) used to examine theoretical aspects of innovative and digital development of the agricultural sector; economic and statistical methods (structural and dynamic analysis, comparison, grouping) used to analyse current trends in innovation activity in the agricultural sector; specialised methodological approaches (system-functional and structural-logical approaches) applied to generalise directions of digitalisation and innovative development of agricultural production; and tabular and graphical methods used to visually present the research results. The theoretical foundations of innovative and digital development of the agricultural sector under conditions of global transformations are substantiated. Forms and directions of innovative activity are systematized, current innovation trends in the development of agricultural economic systems are generalized, and the state of innovation activity in Ukraine is analysed. The role of digitalisation as a tool of strategic management of agro-industrial production is defined, and key problems of implementing digital technologies in agriculture are outlined. Approaches to ensuring sustainable development, food security, and strategic development priorities of the agricultural sector in the context of digitalisation, European integration, and the circular economy are substantiated The results of the study have been applied in scientific research, in the educational process when teaching economic disciplines, as well as in the practical activities of agricultural business entities in the development of strategies for innovative and digital development.
