Furthermore, droplets with characteristic sizes of up to 250 μm are formed in the peripheral part of the spray plume, which is approximately three times smaller than those obtained using a disk atomizer. The key regimes determining the disperse composition of the liquid have been identified, and it is proposed to evaluate the flow in the atomizer cup using a parameter that reflects the conditions of the liquid film formation. Experimental verification demonstrated that the rotary cup atomizer ensures the dehydration of viscous multicomponent systems (up to 60% dry matter), resulting in the formation of humic-organo-mineral granules with a characteristic layered structure. Compared to its disk counterpart, a twofold increase in the specific wetting load of the bed and a threefold increase in granulated product throughput were achieved. Based on the obtained results, an approach to engineering calculations has been formulated, and recommendations regarding the design of an industrial apparatus for processing composite liquid systems are provided.
