Purpose: to substantiate a strategy for the spatial diversification of the economic development of mountainous territories.
Methods: induction, deduction, dialectical, generalization; analytical-descriptive, econometric, and computational methods of economic statistics; comparative analysis; sociological interviewing and multi-criteria diagnostics.
Scientific novelty (new results obtained):
A methodology to measure and assess the diversification potential of mountainous settlements (natural, production, human resources);
Identification of promising areas for economic diversification in mountainous territories;
Efficiency analysis of production and business activities in priority economic sectors of mountainous areas;
Proposals to improve the institutional framework regulating economic activities in mountainous areas;
Effectiveness evaluation of public policy measures supporting mountainous territory development;
Practical recommendations for long-term economic growth based on multifunctional innovative development.
Key findings:
Proposals were substantiated to attract and integrate migration potential into the regional economy in the post-war period. The guidelines "Diversification of the Economy of the Region's Mountainous Territories" and a methodology for assessing its diversification potential were developed.
