Research report: 59 p., 14 fig., 12 tables, 1 appendix.
OBJECT OF THE RESEARCH — an automated high-frequency power calibration system as an integrated measurement and software-algorithmic complex.
SUBJECT OF THE RESEARCH — measurement control, signal-level auto-balancing, uncertainty evaluation and software tools.
PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH — to develop algorithms and software for automated HF power calibration, uncertainty evaluation and generation of calibration reports and DCCs.
The report presents the results of the interim R&D stage. The HF power transfer scheme was analyzed and a comparison method using a resistive splitter was selected. The system architecture based on the Rohde & Schwarz SMF100A generator, NRP-Z51/NRP-Z55 reference sensors, a device under calibration, a PC and environmental monitoring system was developed.
Software modules for instrument detection, calibration-point loading, measurement control, auto-balancing, statistical processing, uncertainty evaluation, data storage and XML generation were implemented. Five NRP-Z11 power sensors were calibrated in the range of 1 MHz–8 GHz. Repeatability was confirmed; the inter-sensor deviation range did not exceed 0.015 mW.
A DCC structure for frequency-dependent HF calibration results was developed, including results and uncertainties in XML format.
DEGREE OF IMPLEMENTATION: software modules and algorithms were experimentally verified; the DCC structure was tested.
FIELD OF APPLICATION: 72.19; calibration and testing laboratories, national metrology institutes.
KEYWORDS: AUTOMATED CALIBRATION SYSTEM, HF POWER, AUTO-BALANCING, MEASUREMENT UNCERTAINTY, DCC, XML, METROLOGICAL TRACEABILITY.
