The aim of research is grounding and working out the proposals concerning improvement of activity of modern enterprises in the countryside on the basis of the composite analysis of the development of business in the agricultural sector of Rivne region. The following are the methods of research work: the monographic method, statistic groupping, forecasting, the graphical method, economic analysis. Since 2000 the agricultural enterprises of Rivne region has tended to increase the effectiveness of agricultural production. The losses incurred by Rivne region agricultural enterprises in 1997-1999 were 222 million.UAH, though in 2000-2003 the above enterprises got 1.4 million UAH of profit. In 2004 57 % of agricultural enterprises were profitable, there was gained the net profit in the amount of 57 million. UAH, the level of profitability was 17.9 %. The volume of investments in the main funds of agricultural enterprises of the region in 2004 was 18.1 million UAH. It is 4.4 % of the total amount of investments in 1990 and 188.5 % of the total amount of investments in 2003. The material-technical supply of agricultural enterprises in Rivne region became worse. The total value of the main means of production in 2004 is 1877.3 million UAH or 37.8 % less in comparison with 1996. The charge for one tractor became 2 times bigger and is 103 ha in comparison with 1996, the charge for one harvester became 1.5 times bigger and is 153 ha. The consumption of manpower for producing 1 centner of grain is 2.1 person per hour, while the same index in Ukraine is 1.5 person per hour and in the USA - 0.26 p/h.
