The aim of the paper is to find biomarkers of the state of natural and anthropogenic ecosystems, of resistance of strange floral ornamental plants of open and sheltered ground, of rare food plants, spicy herbs and fodder crops and to develop measures on conservation, restoration and rational use of phytodiversity in anthropogenic transformed steppe zone of Ukraine. The water shed dry and damp oak-groves on well-developed black soil in different stages of digression have been investigated. Taxational characteristics of Quercus robur L of the oak-groves under consideration have been given, the second growth and the undergrowth have been characterized, cadastres of types of ecosystems have been made, florocomplexes of the types of indicators of digression stages have been singled out. The system of above flood-plain terraced loess steppes on sands has been characterized. The cadastre of kinds has been made and ecotopological florocomplexes of pasture degradation of vegetation cover of ecosystem have been singled out. Secular and regional structure of Festuca valesiaca Gaudin coenopopulation in different stages of demutational succession of multi-herbaceous and fescue-and-feather grass steppes on black soil has been researched. It has been established that the degree of development of F. valesiaca coenopopulations has indicator meaning for determining of the demutation stage of steppe phytocoenoses. Gypsophila paulii Klokov and G. perfoliata L ceonopopulaions in technogenic ecotopes have been researched and morphological characteristics of the plants which can be the markers of technogenic environmental pollution have been singled out. It has been established that adaptation of Campanula trachelium L. to the arid environmental conditions tends to be accomplished through the reduction of the seed germination period and accelerated root system development. The comparative analysis of anatomical structure of leaf and of epidermis texture of three species of Hemerocallis L. genus out of five points of introduction has been held. It has been established that under steppe conditions the number of stomata on basal epidermis within the species under consideration reduces while their size increases. Three samples of Salvia officinalis L. with the biggest productivity under the conditions of the Southeast of Ukraine have been chosen for the further selecting work. The dependence of macrocarpousness on the number of flowers of different genders of selective forms of Сhаеnоmеlіs japonica (Thunb.) Lindl. has been disclosed and three selective forms resistant to the conditions of steppe with a good crop capacity have been singled out. The documents for the state kind-testing of two candidates for kinds Chryanthemum x hortorum Bailey.: 'Juliette' and 'Galatea' have been prepared. Two candidates for kinds of fodder crops: Bromopsis inermis 'Donbass' and Festuca gigantea 'Velychava' have been handed over to state kind-testing. An original technique of distinguishing between homogeneousness and stability of Festuca gigantea has been developed.
