Investigate the involvement of NETs in initiating micro occlusions of bile ducts causing NAFLD and NASH. We demonstrated that NETs initiate gallstone formation, in frames of Healthcare of Ukraine grant we demonstrated that inhibitors of NETs formation decrease the severity of NAFLD /NASH. Here we want to test if NETs are making microcrystals in the hepatobiliary system, causing bile accumulation and hepatocyte damage, determine their timing and localization. Fluorescent markers of NETs formation will be used for in vivo imaging.
