Provided consumer packaging market in Ukraine was analysed . Basic characteristic types of synthetic packaging materials, creating biodegradable polymer films (biodegradable composite plastics, biodegradable plastics based on natural materials). Designed packing material from cardboard with chitosan and chitosan-coated wax in terms of hydrophobicity, water vapor permeability and water absorption was studied.
