Techniques for remote assessment of biophysical parameters of forest plant communities and agrophytocenoses within various landscape and climate zones of Ukraine At the 2nd stage of the research work techniques for assessment of the selected biophysical parameters of forest plant communities and agrophytocenoses using ground truth and satellite data were developed. Among them are: - estimation of a leaf area index (LAI) and biomass based on LiDAR data and field measurements; - LAI estimation based on multispectral satellite images of medium spatial resolution and field measurements; - assessment of the characteristics of forest plant communities phenological development on the basis of MODIS information products; - assessment of the dynamics and dependencies of the selected parameters for different vegetation test sites from climatic factors; - estimation of productivity of major crops in different landscape-climatic zones of Ukraine using ground truth and satellite data products from MODIS (MOD17); - estimation of land cover moistening using MODIS (MOD11 and MOD13) products for various landscape-climatic zones of Ukraine, primarily southern regions (steppe zone).
