The object of the research is an educational and speech activity of future health professionals. Aim of research is to develop, substantiate theoretically and approve experimentally methodology of discursive competence formation of future health professionals using innovative technologies. Methods of the research: methods of theoretical and empirical research: synthesis, analysis, abstraction and specification; analogy and simulation; quantitative and qualitative methods (scientometrics and bibliometrics); system analysis, testing, observation, experiment, method of deduction and induction. In this context, the research has the following objectives: to clarify and substantiate the essence of such scientific concepts as "discourse", "foreign language competence", "discourse competence", "innovative technologies"; to make a typology of discourses in medical communication; to identify and substantiate the possibilities of using innovative technologies in teaching of professionally-oriented communication of future health care workers; to develop, approve and substantiate experimental methodology of formation of discursive competence of future health professionals; select the language and speech material for a system of exercises and tasks for the formation of discursive foreign language competence of future health professionals.
