A series of phenylpyrazolyl sulfides that have been oxidized in sulfones have been synthesized, and the resulting esters have been tamed to the corresponding acids as potential bioactive substances. It has been found that the interaction of affordable 2-methylsulfonyl-3-ethoxyacrylonitrile with amides, their analogs and aminoazoles leads to previously unknown 4-amino-5-methylsulfonylpyrimidines and their condensed derivatives. It has been shown that the interaction of readily available tetrahloro-2-aza-1,3-butadienes with N-phenyl-1,2-cyclopentanediamine results in the regioselective annealing of cyclopentane to the 1,3,5-triazepine cycle. It was found that the acylation and sulfonylation of substituted pyrazolo[3,4-d][1,2,3]triazin-4-ones results in the destruction of the triazine cycle and the formation of new functionally substituted derivatives of pyrazole with a variety of biological activity.
