The problem of energy efficiency of the ATZ in the system communication of energy consumption of the engine to provide traffic and power of auxiliary aggregates and functional systems is considered. The main factors affecting the energy efficiency of motor vehicles are presented. On the example of the calculation it is proved that in the case of short-term stopping of cars the application of the "stop-start" system contributes to the reduction of fuel consumption, compared with the work of the engines at idle during the stops. It has been proven that at present light bulbs do not have a significant advantage to illuminate buses' salons even in front of incandescent lamps. This is due to the relatively high initial cost of lamps and the high value of color temperature, which requires a higher level of illumination and, accordingly, greater energy consumption. Statistics on the length of staff stops for the entrance to the city bus passengers, the idle times before traffic lights and the probability of their travel without stopping. It is proved that the reason of the emergence of emergency modes in the electric network of cars is, first of all, its unsatisfactory technical condition: violation of fastening of wires and their mechanical and temperature damage, use of fuses of a higher denomination, etc.
