The psychological and pedagogical essence of the concepts "development" and "method of development" is revealed. Development should be understood as permanent quantitative changes in mental qualities, which ultimately lead to the emergence of a new quality.
And this is not trivial. In particular, if we consider observation, it is fair to say that the individual has the ability to capture common and different in objects or phenomena, as a result of training of its individual components spontaneously or purposefully, develops the ability as a whole. The terms "observant", "more observant" and "less observant" are often used in such cases. And this is because different individuals may see more or less hidden similarities or differences. But who in this case should be called observant? Quantitative criteria do not work here, because they can only lead to a new quality. And a new quality is a subconscious vision, ie the ability, according to O. Ponomarev, to subconsciously fix a by-product of object action.
