The discourse level was marked by the analysis of the following phenomena: semantic significance discovered in the parental sector of modern British family, the gender aspect of the category of emotivity in British artistic discourse of the ХІХ and ХХІ centuries as well as gender-marked concepts MANN and FRAU in the literary works of German-speaking novelists from Western Ukraine who composed their writings in the XIX and early XX centuries. For the first time the analysis of hierarchical language units of English-German-French worldview was conducted from the new perspective: a complex analysis was carried out in an effort to reveal semantic peculiarities of the units belonging with lexico-semantic field of emotive adjectives; the functioning of phono-semantic constants in the German phonological system was studied in view of synchronic and diachronic aspects; cognitive and pragmatic features of euphemisms in the English mass culture discourse were investigated. The semantic and functional levels were characterized by the integrated analysis of language means of expressing negation in synchrony as well as diachrony; the overall corpus of modern English somatic phraseological units was fully researched and so were biblical phraseological units. The aforementioned analyses were performed for the first time ever. The functional peculiarities of Germanic and Romanic hierarchical language units were studied.
