The scientific novelty is as follows: clarified and deepened understanding of the essence of the concepts of "foreign language professional communicative competence", "interactivity", "interactive learning"; theoretically substantiated, developed and practically tested pedagogical technology for the formation of foreign language competence of students-translators and the mechanism of its implementation using an interactive teaching method (within the context of contextual, grammatical, and communicative approaches); the interactive method of teaching a language and translation is considered comprehensively. The results of the study and conclusions can be used in the educational process in order to increase the level of foreign language competence of students, during teaching curricula, preparing elective courses, conducting testing, training and role-based classrooms.
