Changes in the leukogram and erythrocyte content of experimental mice were also studied. The ability of new 4-thiazolidinone derivatives, and thiazole derivatives in free form and immobilized on synthetic polymeric carriers, to induce apoptosis and disrupt DNA structure in mammalian tumor cells has been studied. We have obtained a preparative amounts of shrimp chitosan and chitosan-melanin complex of bees, as well as fragments of chitosan of medium (150 kDa) and low (50 kDa) molecular weight for their application as carriers of drugs and other ligands. For the first time we have established the influence of counter-anions of inorganic and organic nature in salt forms of chitosans on their biological activity and physical and chemical characteristics. The results of cytological studies of the toxicity of chitosan and its derivatives on different cell types allowed us to determine the most promising derivatives with antibacterial, antifungal action, as well as the level of their toxicity towards different types of animal cells. We hav analyzed the changes in the level of antitumor and antimicrobial effect due to increased water solubility of synthetic antitumor substances in the composition of the created complexes and/or prolongation of their action. The molecular mechanisms of cytotoxic action of Ser-Pro-Cys peptide nanoconjugates towards human malignant tumor cells in vitro have been studied. Deletion analysis and site-specific mutagenesis of the 3’-untranslated region (3’-UTR) cDNA of the key transcription factor Smad3 of the TGF-β signaling pathway have been performed. This revealed the molecular mechanisms of hyperactivation of this signaling pathway after its hypersensitivity by hyperthermia and the action of certain antitumor drugs.
