An example of everywhere discontinuous separately continuous function defined on the product of a compact space and a Baire space is constructed. A generalization of Sierpinski theorem on determination of a separately continuous function by its values on an arbitrary everywhere dense set is obtained. The horizontal property of Egorov for vector lattices is investigated. The notion of function of the first homotopic Baire class is introduced and its equivalence to the notion of function of the first Baire class is proved. The equivalence of different types of compactness for partial metric spaces is obtained. Necessary and sufficient conditions for metrizability of partial metric spaces are established
