The research work is devoted to the theoretical justification and practical approbation of the modern possibilities of using the visual (museum-excursion) method on the example of teaching the disciplines "History of Economics and Economic Thought", "History of Ukrainian Culture". The evolution of views on the circle of sources from the study of historical processes is substantiated.
The modern understanding of the "visual turn" in historical research is presented.
