The absence of a thesaurus and the need to create a unified dictionary have been identified. Specifically, 236 sources from various domestic and foreign authors have been analyzed. The pedagogical conditions for the integration of the content of natural and mathematical cycle disciplines based on a STEM-oriented approach have been defined and substantiated; forms of training educators for the implementation of STEM technologies have been identified. An integral pedagogical technology for STEM education in gymnasia has been determined and chosen as the basis, which is a learning model based on identifying related elements (problems, plots, events, regularities) in different subjects and combining them into a qualitatively new whole with a specific defined purpose, and a problem-based learning model, which involves learning based on the analysis of problems and challenges of the modern world. The theoretical foundations of STEM education and directions for its implementation in general secondary education institutions have been investigated for the purpose of classifying STEM education technologies in gymnasia. It has been found that the application of STEM education technologies is possible in two educational systems in accordance with students' requests (according to the variable component of the basic curriculum or in extracurricular activities); the impact of the material-technical component of STEM education on educational outcomes in general secondary education institutions has been clarified.
