The professional and qualification imbalance of the workforce is one of the complex problems that hinders the effective functioning of the domestic labor market and its development, especially in regional and local labor markets. In the course of the implementation of the II stage of the applied research «Trendwatching of the labor market in the system of training and advanced training of specialists in the conditions of the post-war recovery of Ukraine», the latest trends in the labor market and educational services were studied in order to forecast the required competencies, soft and hard skills and areas of activity, competences for training and upgrading the qualifications of highly qualified and competitive specialists in the conditions of the post-war recovery of Ukraine. External (direct and indirect) and internal factors (objective and subjective) influencing the latest trends in the labor market and educational services were studied. The gradation of competencies and skills (cross-functional, cognitive, digital, socio-behavioral, etc.), values of a modern specialist was carried out in accordance with the socio-economic conditions of production development, the requirements of employers and key stakeholders. A methodology for taking into account migration processes and their impact on the state of the labor market at the micro, meso and macro levels has been developed. The results of the research can be used in the process of modernization of the system of continuous professional education, organization of lifelong learning of adults.
