popup.description1
The overall goal of the project is to develop an entirely new field of transparent electronics, namely transparent superconductor electronics. Such materials, combined with quantum photonics, are in great demand in such cutting-edge technologies as quantum computing, communication, and sensing. To achieve this ambitious goal of creating transparent superconductor electronics, it is necessary to develop synthesis technologies for materials with the required characteristics and to study the peculiarities of their crystal structure and electrical transport parameters.
popup.description2
Transparent superconductors combined with quantum photonics are very promising for quantum computing, communication and sensing. Broadband electrochromic metal oxides, reduced indium tin oxide In2-ySnyO3-δ (ITO) with a dome-like transition temperature at 6 K and intercalated tungsten oxide with possible non-percolated superconductivity at around 130 K combine the necessary properties. The overall goal of the project is to develop a completely new field of transparent electronics, namely transparent superconducting electronics. Such materials combined with quantum photonics are in great demand in such cutting-edge technologies as quantum computing, communication and sensing. A specific goal of the first phase will be the development of thin film technologies for transparent superconductors based on ITO. To optimize the superconducting properties of doped ITO films, a comprehensive structural and elemental analysis was performed, and the physical characteristics of films obtained by electrochemical reduction and magnetron deposition were investigated. Analysis of the above experimental data allows us to conclude that the nucleation of the superconducting state in ITO films is due to a significant oxygen deficiency in the very thin top ITO layer. The first point-contact measurements of reduced films (ITO) in the superconducting state were performed, which simultaneously demonstrate high transparency in the visible light spectrum. Analysis of the differential conductivity spectrum indicates the presence of two superconducting phases, the main one with a critical temperature Tc of about 4.6 K and an additional phase with Tc ~ 10 K, most likely localized on the surface. The phase separation is indirectly confirmed by measurements of the resistance of these layers and calculations from first principles of the doped electronic structure of ITO.
