Contemporary higher education in Ukraine is undergoing radical ideological, sociocultural, and civilizational changes, which highlight the need for its philosophical rethinking not only as an institutional system but also as a value-oriented way of reproducing society. The conditions of globalization, multiculturalism, digital transformation, as well as the experience of full-scale war have called into question established models of educational development and revealed the limitations of technocratic and purely instrumental approaches to the modernization of higher education.
The axiological dimension of higher education is manifested in the ability of educational strategies not only to adapt to change, but also to set normative horizons for social development, to shape ideas about the meanings of knowledge, responsibility, freedom, solidarity, dignity, and cultural identity. In this sense, higher education appears as a space for the production and transmission of values that structure social reality and determine the possibilities for its sustainable reproduction in a multicultural society. Object of research: contemporary higher education in Ukraine as a sociocultural and value-oriented phenomenon. Subject of research: axiological foundations for modernizing strategies for contemporary higher education in Ukraine in a multicultural society. The purpose of the scientific topic is to provide a socio-philosophical justification for the axiological foundations of modernizing higher education strategies as a way of harmonizing cultural meanings, forming intercultural competence, and ensuring the value stability of Ukrainian society. The main tasks of the study are: to analyze the philosophical concepts of the axiology of education in the context of contemporary social transformations; to reveal multiculturalism as a value principle of modernization of higher education strategies; to substantiate the role of the university as a space for intercultural dialogue.
