 Methods were developed: application of competently oriented tasks in the Ukrainian language lessons; the use of tools for formative assessment of learning achievements of students in the first cycle of study; creation and realization of cross-curricular tasks (cognitive, activity, value) as a resource of introduction of new content of the linguistic and literary branch; the formation of the ability of young students to work with values; technology of constructing tools for formative assessment of educational achievement of elementary school students; ways of solving certain problems have been developed through the implementation of systems of individual exercises and tasks to overcome the difficulties of students learning to read; tasks to diagnose the state of social competence of younger students at the end of the first cycle of study; competently oriented tasks for the formation of skills in younger students to create coherent statements on the content of the read text in the lessons of literary reading and diagnostic tasks to check their level of formation; competently oriented tasks to provide didactic and methodological support to the process of studying the values ​​by younger students; competently oriented tasks for the formation of environmental literacy among students; differentiated tasks for the formation and development of students' writing skills; tasks for formation and examination of students of subject competences in the Ukrainian language in grades 2 - 4. The didactic-methodological support of competently oriented teaching of junior students is introduced into the practice of elementary school, embodied in: typical educational programs for 1-2 and 3-4 classes of general secondary education institutions, created under the direction of O. Savchenko; methodological recommendations for teaching subjects in the 1st and 2nd grades of educational institutions; scientifically grounded and experimentally tested didactic and methodological support.
