Scientific approaches to the definition of "public financial policy", "economic development" have been improved, and the requirements for public financial policy in the context of ensuring economic development have been identified. Approaches to the classification of public financial policy by levels of its formation and implementation have been improved. Approaches to the implementation of the interaction of the components of the SFP modernization of sustainable development are formed, in which the main emphasis is placed on the main elements of the policy analysis cycle - from its formation on the basis of problem analysis to evaluation and monitoring of implementation of both sustainable development targets and budget funding targets. The classification of factors of choice and realization of a course of the state financial policy of sustainable development is developed. The current directions of modernization of the SFP of sustainable development of Ukraine are identified: improvement of the investment climate, formation of the digital single market, implementation of mechanisms of participation in the European Energy Union, search of mechanisms of financial regulation of migration processes. A conceptual vision of the mechanism of modernization of the State Fund for Sustainable Development is proposed, which is based on the integration of process and system approaches to the interpretation of the content of the economic mechanism, a variety of which is the mechanism of modernization of the State Fund for Sustainable Development.
