Preconditioning of MSCs with hydrogen peroxide, vitamin C and LPS approximately doubles the therapeutic effect of their intraperitoneal transplantation. The method of complex assessment of the effect of a number of bacterial products on the immunomodulatory properties of human umbilical cord MSCs in vitro in the model of mitogen-induced lymphocyte proliferation has been optimized. Contact cocultivation of MSCs with peripheral blood mononuclear cells has been shown to significantly reduce mitogen-induced T lymphocyte proliferation. MSCs have been shown to have both prophylactic and therapeutic effects on cognitive impairment in mice after LPS injection.
