An increased expression of tumor stem cell (TSC) markers characteristic of breast cancer (CD133, nestin) in BPS and zBPS was revealed, compared to the adherent culture of MCF-7 cells cultivated under standard conditions in a complete nutrient medium. It has also been shown that after 48 hours of incubation under standard conditions, the monolayer culture is sensitive to the action of antitumor drugs, namely, doxorubicin, methotrexate, cisplatin and salinomycin. A tendency to a decrease in the number of living cells in the population of monosharophous cell culture under the action of antitumor drugs was revealed in the following sequence: methotrexate → salinomycin → cisplatin → doxorubicin. It has been established that cells can acquire characteristics of stem cells depending on the conditions in which they are located and in which nutrient medium they are cultivated. When cells are incubated in low-adhesive conditions with the addition of various growth factors and in a medium depleted of serum, the number of cells with stem-like characteristics increases.
