The purpose of the research is to assess the degree of stress reaction of biosystems to external and internal influences according to key physiological and biochemical indicators. Research methods: experimental models of the stress of various etiologies (ischemia, brain injury, intracranial haemorrhage, depression), physiological-biochemical, immunochemical, statistical. A theoretical and experimental analysis of the behavioural, psychological and social consequences of early life stress and traumatic brain injury was carried out, physiological and biochemical changes in the gastroduodenal zone, pro/antioxidant systems and the functional state of liver mitochondria of rats in an experimental model of depression and under the influence of caffeine were investigated, as well as changes distribution of neuro specific proteins in different parts of the brain under conditions of experimental ischemia and intracranial haemorrhage. A comprehensive assessment of the enzyme control systems for the system of protective reactions under conditions of stress is presented, the activation of lactate dehydrogenase and the restoration of the ratio of lactate and pyruvate concentrations, with their involvement in the energy supply of cells, are established. Changes in both the periodic activity of the gastroduodenal zone and the protective components of the gastric mucosa under stress conditions are characterized. Based on the results of experimental studies, gender differences in resistance to stress reactions of various etiologies have been established. Results can become basis for the development of strategies, sets of practical measures and the implementation of national and regional programs to prevent the development of chronic effects of stress and restore key elements of metabolism, physiological functions of the body in the post-stress period.
