Registration Date 11-02-2025 Organization Kundiev Institute of Occupational Health of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 To improve the system of hazard assessment of industrial aerosols of various dispersion to prevent their adverse effects on workers in the field of nanotechnology popup.description2 Object of study - nanoparticles, nanomaterials, welding materials, methods of evaluation. Purpose - to develop measures to prevent the adverse effects of nanomaterials/highly dispersed aerosols in the workplace. Research methods - physicochemical, hygienic, toxicological, statistical. It has been established that the predictors of the potential hazard of industrial aerosols are the physicochemical properties of aerosol particles: chemical composition, primary particle size distribution, specific surface area, shape, modification, solubility, and toxic-kinetic effects. According to the results of toxicological studies of highly dispersed fractions of welding aerosols and titanium-containing nanomaterials, it was found that the stabilization of nanoparticles with glucose-citrate buffer allows obtaining relatively stable hydrosols that can be used in screening studies using bovine spermatozoa as a test object and in a model experiment using Secale cereale L as a test object. The studied welding materials demonstrated low to high toxicity, which, together with the data on the chemical composition of nanofractions and dispersion of TCPA, should be taken into account when developing protective strategies and choosing personal protective equipment. The “control lane” approach is a relevant and useful tool for assessing and managing risks in the workplace. For effective management of potential risks, it is advisable to obtain information on the toxicity of materials and exposure of workers to highly dispersed aerosols. Prevention of the adverse effects of highly dispersed aerosols/nanomaterials in the workplace involves the application of administrative and technical control measures and the use of personal protective equipment. The research results are the basis for rapid assessment of the potential hazard (toxicity) of new materials (welding, nanomaterials, etc.) in a short time and without the use of expensive equipment and reagents.  Product Description popup.authors Andrusyshyna Iryna M.
