The author determines how journalistic principles of accuracy, interpretation, and cultural memory can be preserved and revived in multimodal, interactive, and algorithmic environments. The thesis places historical and cultural journalism within the broader evolution of journalistic genres, demonstrating that its dual orientation – towards factual documentation and interpretive reflection – has always made it a key mediator between knowledge and collective identity. Drawing on the work of Assmann, Jenkins, Zelizer, and Hoskins, the author conceptualises digital media as a new environment for «working with memory», where storytelling becomes participatory, non-linear, and subject to constant algorithmic reinterpretation. The analysis highlights five key dimensions that define contemporary practice: multimodality, interactivity, networked temporality, innovative narrative strategies, and ethical responsibility. Particular attention is paid to the risks of clip culture, digital amnesia, and the decontextualisation of history in short, emotion-driven media. The author examines international models of cultural journalism in Europe, Asia and America. Examples include the BBC programme «World War II: Stories of People», National Geographic articles on visual heritage, The New York Times «Retro Report» feature, Arts. 21 Deutsche Welle, Le Monde's interactive special editions, NHK World documentaries, and user-generated cultural narratives on Chinese platforms such as Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, and Bilibili. The author identifies common trends: the dominance of multimedia and engaging storytelling, the rise of participatory content creation, and the constant search for a balance between analytical depth and accessibility to a wide audience. Ukrainian digital projects – Istorychna Pravda (Historical Truth) and Lokanna Istoriya (Local History) – are analysed as cases where cultural journalism functions as a tool for resilience and identity preservation during war. The empirical part of the work operationalises these findings by creating and publishing three original reports on Chinese social media. The first, «Preparing for Travel: The Best Way to Discover an Ancient City», presents the cultural heritage of Kashgar through practical travel tips combined with contextual historical commentary. The second, «Transportation and Accommodation: Embracing Local Life», explores local customs, hospitality, and architecture as elements of a living cultural identity. The third, «Media: Modern Platforms, Ancient Roots, and the Advantages and Disadvantages of Information Overload», examines the role of media in shaping cultural identity. The empirical part of the work operationalises these findings by creating and publishing three original reports on Chinese social networks. The first, «Preparing for the Journey: The Best Way to Discover an Ancient City», presents the cultural heritage of Kashgar through practical travel advice combined with contextual historical commentary. The second, «Transportation and Accommodation: Embracing Local Life», explores local customs, hospitality, and architecture as elements of a living cultural identity. The third, «Media: Modern Platforms, Ancient Roots, and the Pros and Cons of Information Overload», offers a comparative analysis of communication systems from oral traditions to modern networks. These materials were published on Zhihu and related platforms and analysed for audience engagement, perception patterns and interaction based on comments. Quantitative and qualitative audience analysis confirmed a dual engagement model typical of online cultural journalism. Visually rich and practically oriented materials achieved wider reach and higher engagement rates, while analytical works generated fewer but more reflective responses, fostering discussions about the authenticity, reliability, and social role of the media. This discrepancy illustrates that effective digital cultural journalism must combine accessibility with intellectual content, adapting the format and tone to the capabilities of a particular platform without compromising journalistic integrity. Comparative and practical results confirm several theoretical conclusions. Historical and cultural journalism continues to serve as a vital bridge between tradition and modernity, ensuring the continuity of cultural memory through authentic and creative forms of storytelling. Digital platforms, while creating risks of fragmentation and superficiality, also enable unprecedented ways of inclusion, interactivity, and intercultural dialogue. The survival and relevance of the genre depend on the journalist's ability to integrate fact-checking, depth of interpretation and multimedia design, transforming each publication into both an act of information exchange and cultural mediation. The article emphasises that in the information environment of the 21st century, the mission of journalism goes beyond the transmission of news and sets itself the task of preserving collective memory and developing cultural literacy. Historical and cultural journalism, if practised ethically and innovatively, can counter misinformation, combat digital amnesia, and restore trust between professional media and an engaged audience. The author proposes cross-platform strategies that combine the viral potential of short video apps with the analytical credibility of text forums and long-form video stories, ensuring both reach and meaning. The results of the work are relevant to journalism education, media literacy, and the development of models for sustainable cultural communication. By demonstrating how digital tools can enrich rather than undermine the cultural functions of journalism, the work contributes to the ongoing discourse on the role of media in preserving historical consciousness and promoting intercultural understanding in the digital age. У центрі кваліфікаційної роботи – трансформація історичної та культурної теми в репортажі в контексті цифрових платформ; як традиційні журналістські принципи – точність, контекстуалізація та культурна інтерпретація – адаптуються до мультимодального, інтерактивного та партисипативного характеру онлайн-медіа. Практична частина включає створення та публікацію трьох журналістських репортажів на онлайн-платформах: путівник по стародавньому місту Кашгар, що поєднує культурні ідеї з практичними порадами; стаття про транспорт, розміщення та захопливий досвід у Кашгарі; та аналітичне есе, що порівнює стародавні та сучасні медіа, розглядаючи переваги та недоліки сучасного інформаційного середовища. Ці тематичні дослідження ілюструють, як цифрова репортажна справа інтегрує культурну спадщину із сучасними комунікаційними практиками. Аналіз аудиторії показав, що візуально насичені та практичні репортажі приваблюють більшу читацьку аудиторію та залученість, тоді як аналітична стаття стимулює критичне обговорення в менших, більш рефлексивних спільнотах. Це підтверджує подвійний потенціал цифрових платформ: широко поширювати культурні знання та сприяти інтелектуальним дебатам у нішевих контекстах. Авторка доходить висновку, що історична та культурна журналістика залишається життєво важливим жанром у цифрову епоху, виступаючи мостом між традиціями та сучасністю.
