The aim of the study is to validate the technical approaches and practical recommendations to improve the financial security of agricultural education and science with the development of an innovative model of economy of Ukraine. Theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the fundamental work of leading researchers in the field of domestic finance and economics of higher education and science, the legislative acts of Ukraine and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, regulating the financial and economic relations in this sphere. The study used the following methods: analysis, synthesis and scientific abstraction (in the refinement of basic economic categories of scientific research), comparative and statistical analyzes (for an analytical evaluation of the definition of the current trends and patterns of development of financial support agricultural education and research), methods, graphics, correlation regression analysis (identification of influence factors on the financial mechanism of the agricultural universities), settlement and regulatory (in the justification of the pricing mechanism for educational services), a logic synthesis method (in the properties of the formation and implementation of the financial mechanism of the agricultural higher education and science in Ukraine). The value of these results is the justification of the theoretical aspects of agricultural development funding of higher education and science in Ukraine on the basis of innovation, evaluation of its current status and identify factors that affect the financial security of agricultural education and research in Ukraine. The proposed conceptual approaches and model of the financial mechanism of the agricultural science and higher education contribute to their innovative development in Ukraine. Improved methodical approach to the formation of prices for educational and scientific services, which is a combination of cost and aggregate that will enhance the effectiveness of financial resources of agricultural science and higher education, including through the introduction of budgeting tools in agricultural education and research institutions.
