The article briefly describes the dynamics of the development of church art, the peculiarities of the correlation between its content and form, the reflection of the changeable way that it made towards today’s world. The Russian Orthodox Church in its thousands of years of history, in different ways, changing the image, brings innermost things through the relation of content and form reflecting epochal variability of the way, how people came in the world today. The actual adoption of the new faith was provided in Kievan Rus, not by force or preaching, but the corresponding main of pagan and сhristian symbols and ideas. Period of feudal disunion showed a synthesis of different influences, Moscow period formed the original, absorbed the experience of the entire Russian land, art system.
