Каразіна Опис Relevance of research is predefined by the necessity of the scientific analysis of the origin and development of the state, public, church and private care of children in the Ukrainian provinces of the Russian empire. The main hypothesis of research is that during a certain historical period in the Ukrainian provinces there was formed a complex, original system of child care for such categories of minors as babies-foundlings, extramarital children, orphans, juvenile delinquents, sick children, children with physical disabilities (blind, deaf-mute) and the poorest children from the privileged population stratum at the age from birth to 21.
