Geological studies will contain studies of the composition, internal structure, and conditions of volcanic formations occurrence in the western part of the magmatic arc of the Antarctic Peninsula and islands located around it with aim to clarify their age, origin, and presence of influence of Mesozoic- Cenozoic geodynamic processes. Environmental chemistry research will include both laboratory and field studies with aim to confirm/refute the hypothesis about the role of electrical phenomena in initiating of chemical reactions in the snow cover, modeling of the influence of the chemical structure of trace gases on their distribution between the snow cover, aerosols and atmosphere, and modeling of mass exchange processes in polythermal glaciers and their interaction with atmospheric aerosols due to regional climate changes. popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
