Head Kapral Myron M., д.і.н. Registration Date 02-10-2024 Organization Institute of Ukrainian Archeography and Source Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 The aim of the proposed topic is to study the key social practices and cultural patterns that, on the one hand, demonstrated the continuity of the sociocultural traditions of the Western Ukrainian region, and on the other hand, their integration into the broader European civilizational process of the early modern and modern periods in the context of the development of the Ukrainian national idea. The research will be based on both newly discovered narrative, act, and visual sources (documents of the Lviv Tailors' Guild, visitations of the Chełm Diocese of the 18th century, the archive of the Shevchenko Scientific Society, historiographical monuments, coats of arms, and flags of Ukrainian cities and villages), as well as well-known narrative sources (the Lviv Chronicle, Peryestoroha), but included in a broader context of a comprehensive study of the codex of Mykhailo Gunashevskyi (1634-1650). As a result of this study, monographs about the Lviv Tailors' Guild of the 16th-18th centuries and the history of the Shevchenko Scientific Society will be published, along with three collections of sources, three historiographical monuments, and three auxiliary scientific publications. This will enable researchers to develop a detailed prosopographic portrait of the early modern Ukrainian intellectual, examine and analyze the sociocultural interactions within Ukrainian society, explore the foundations of Ukrainian scientific institutions at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries (the Shevchenko Scientific Society in Lviv), and reinterpret the legacy of prominent Ukrainian scholars (Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, Stepan Tomashivskyi, Yaroslav Dashkevych). popup.nrat_date 2024-12-09 Close
