The study seeks to determine how European models of development — particularly in the spheres of market relations, economic self-governance, entrepreneurship, social welfare, lifestyle, education, and national identity — were integrated, adapted, or transformed within the Ukrainian context under the influence of both external factors (imperial policies, wars, cross-border interactions) and internal social initiatives. Special attention will be devoted to examining institutional changes in the areas of markets, insurance, labor, and internal and external trade; the social experiences of urban and rural communities amid modernization; the transfer of European norms and practices into everyday life, production, and the cultural sphere; the role of entrepreneurship and the intelligentsia in shaping national identity; the disparities between economic development and cultural-educational conditions; and the interaction between local and European civilizational models. The research also aims to develop a comprehensive analytical framework that will make it possible not only to reconstruct the trajectory of modernization processes in Ukraine, but also to outline their long-term legacy — including in the context of contemporary European integration, memory politics, and the humanitarian resilience to hybrid threats. popup.nrat_date 2025-12-02 Close
