In particular: - to study the paleogeographic sedimentary environments in the Proterozoic-Phanerozoic basins of the Carpathian and Black Sea regions, namely the distribution of organic-rich sediments, which in the modern lithological section constitute oil and gas source rock strata, as well as sandstone modules and carbonate formations that form layers of oil and gas reservoir rocks. - to study the dynamics of sedimento-lithogenesis and catagenesis of Ediacaran strata of the southwestern slope of the East European Platform, Upper Jurassic deposits of the basement of the Outer Zone of the Carpathian Foredeep, Cretaceous-Paleogene flysch sequence of the Ukrainian Carpathians, Phanerozoic of the Dobrogean Foredeep and the western part of the Black Sea Mega-Trough in terms of formation of petroleum systems. - to study the geochemical characteristics of Ediacaran black shale strata of the southwestern slope of the East European Platform to clarify their role in the formation of the petroleum system of the region using Rock-Eval pyrolysis, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry; - to investigate the biomarkers and carbon isotopic composition of oils from Paleocene and Eocene deposits of the frontal nappes of the Ukrainian Carpathians for oil-source rock correlation and establishment of hydrocarbon migration pathways and their role in the formation of the petroleum system of the Carpathian flysch. popup.nrat_date 2026-01-02 Close
