Objectives - Medical dispension efficacy enhancement in persons exposed to ionising radiation by development of an unified system of radiation-induced genome damage assessment for late somatic effects prediction. Меthods - conventional cyto-genetic analysis in peripheral blood lymphocyte cultures, statistics, light microscopes Biolam I, MBI-6. Results: The follow-up investigation of cytogenetic effects in persons exposed to low-dose radiation during Chernobyl accident clean up have been carried out. The effect of radiation dose value and exposure duration on the aberrant lymphocyte dynamics was assessed. Firstly, the possibility for initially-induced aberration yield extrapolative measuring in Chernobyl victims was shown. The empirical "time-effect" models describing the chromosomal aberrations dynamics were used for estimation of the optimal terms for direct applying of dose-response curves in biological dosimetry. The prognostic assessments of probable terms of cytogenetic indices normalization and critical terms of conventional chromosomal analysis appli-cation in biological dose detection in clean-up workers were made. The methodological aspects of cytogenetic technique application in biomedical effect investigations after low-dose protracted exposure were described. The unified system for radiation damage of human genome assessment in different terms after low-dose irradiation was elaborated.
