Geomorphic processes and hydrological events are among the most important environmental phenomena in watersheds. Thus for modeling purposes, if combined in the "transitional research subject", they may serve as quality indicators of geographical landscape conditions. Basin morphology and channel networks determine main runoff-channel flow directions, in this way transforming and redistributing the human impact on drainage areas. Upon GIS-modeling a river basin is an area that is delimited by a drainage divide and occupied by a network of channels that transport upstream drainage water and sediment to lower regions. Drainage basins are of various sizes, and form a nested hierarchy to selected points downstream. Basins drain to outlet points that lead to other drainage basins until the flow reaches the ocean or a closed basin. Elaborated Object: As a pract ical implementation of the methodology suggested the conceptual model of specific software is firstly introduced in this work in terms of its functionality, operational scope, and basics for users. Generalized regional examples of using and testing this software will conclude the examination of this package. The Elaborated Object of this study represents a methodological approach, elaborated originally for the purpose of this research work, which links computer simulation of drainage areas with geoinformation technology, that might be realized in software, which conceptual model has been elaborated. Such an approach unites a strong spatial aspect of the geographical-ecological research area with GIS applications and is thus highly useful in practice. A large number of puzzling watershed problems can be solved, when relevant data, transformed and manipulated, serve as a test-criterion for a regional research survey. In particular this research technique is publicized to facilitate the solution for various ques tions concerning river basins: channel network modeling, allocation of water-supply reservoirs in arid landscapes, studies of sediment yield-delivery. C++ programming language and MapBasic have been selected as elaborating tools. This testing proves that this conceptual model meets all requirements for the evolution into a real Decision Support System for policy making.
