Oxide film upon ZnSe and ZnTe grains surface does not prevent formation of ZnSe1-xTex solid solutions during interaction in inert media. Interaction of ZnO with hydrogen begins already at 1040 K. Annealing in media enriched with zinc and introduction of oxygen increase efficiency of scintillators ZnSe and ZnTe.
