It was shown in vivo with rodent tumors that they display significant antimetastatic activity and thermoradiomodifying effect. Complexes are reduced in hypoxic tumors with the formation of active radical species that results in the selective attack of tumor cells, including DNA damage, bioenergetic inhibition and apoptosis induction.
